Columbia Crest Cabernet

We had a bottle of Columbia Crest Cabernet last night when Mabel's brother, Ben, came over for dinner.

I really like Columbia Crest wines. They are very inexpensive and very good, exactly what I look for in an everyday wine. For a while, I was looking for a cheap everyday wine that was less commercial, but in retrospect that was a silly goal. The ubiquity partially accounts for the low price. You can find the Columbia Crest wines pretty much anywhere. Considering that they also make a great Merlot under this label, these are currently our go to wines.

This dry Cabernet has good fruit but maybe a tiny bit too much tannin. Overall it is very good.
