Hill Country

I just got back from dinner with Jason and Nikhil at Hill Country (not to be confused with the Obama's date night Blue Hill). It was my first time there, and I got half a pound of their moist (fatty) brisket which was easily the best brisket that I've ever had. It was life-changing brisket.

They threw in some burnt ends for me, free of charge. I happened to spy a whole hog in one of their pits, so I got a little handful of that. I think I saw him take the meat from the shoulder. It was good, but nothing like the brisket. The ribs were excellent, but still, nothing like the brisket.

Get the brisket.

We saw Mario Batali on our way out. It was really him! But I didn't have a flash camera, so no group photo.

I will return. Mabel wants to go next time. She hears good things about their PB&J cupcakes.
