Whiskey Ward

On Wednesday, the night of the blizzard, Mabel and I got to hang out for dinner and do some shopping. Afterwards, she had to start her night shift, and I made my way to Crystal and Cristiana's 30th birthday get-together at Whiskey Ward.

I first went there on my 29th birthday. Crystal organized it and picked it out. This is a fun place, laid back, good breadth of whisk(e)ys, and nice to either just have a drink yourself at the bar or meet a bunch of friends. They have free peanuts.

This was the scene at Lafayette and Houston on my way to the bar.

I got to Whiskey Ward a bit early, around 7.

So I nursed a couple drinks at the bar and caught up on some reading. I've been into ryes lately, and the bartender was reasonably knowledgeable about the 6 or so ryes they had. I ended up drinking Michter's and Hudson Manhattan Rye which were completely different from each other.

The birthday twins arrived and everyone had a great time.
