Jack Bistro and Piola

Henry was in town this past weekend and stayed with Lucas who knew a few good spots to eat in the neighborhood.

We had brunch at Jack Bistro on Saturday. It's a solid place. The initial plan was for Grey Dog nearby, but the crowds were ridiculous. We couldn't get a table outside at Jack, but there was no problem getting a table for 8. The chicken parm sandwich is good, it's all in the toasted bun.

Today Henry held court at Piola for lunch. Really high ceilings, almost no one there. My kind of place. The pizzas are pseudo-Neopolitan style. All the pizzas we had got a thumbs up except for the carbonara which got a resounding thumbs down. This place is currently running an all you can eat pizza special from 6 pm to 11 pm on Sundays. I'll see if Mabel will be interested in checking out the place in a few weeks.
