Eel backbone

This post took place on June 10, 2010.

Won Hee's father took us to an eel place for dinner today. The eel was served on a warmer grill and had a nice al dente quality to it. But the cool thing about the meal was this side dish of crunchy eel backbone.

It had a nice fish taste and was super crunchy. Talk about nose to tail eating.

They didn't give you the eel heart in the soup?! You were robbed!!

It looks like a little oyster. It's supposed to be good for male "stamina" (sexually).

I forgot to mention that they did bring out an eel soup in a hot stone pot near the end of the meal. I was already so stuffed and eel-ed out that I only had a few spoonfuls, but maybe there was eel heart in that soup? I'll make sure to look out for a little oyster next time.
